Spiritual Warfare Forum: Holy Communion-2
Holy Communion-2 QUESTION from Carlos October 22, 2001 Your kind response to my earlier question was very comforting. Thank you. I am divorced twice. First marriage was civil. Second marriage was by the Episcopal Church. Since the seond was a church weddind, does that need an annulment to begin Holy Communion in my Catholic religion?
ANSWER by John-Paul Ignatius, OLSM on February 1, 2002 Dear Mr. Carlos:
Although your second marriage was a Church wedding, it was not a Catholic wedding. You need to have the marriage blessed in the Catholic Church. As long as the first marriage is annulled (if that is needed) and you otherwise qualify, it should not be a problem to have your marriage blessed in the Catholic Church. Then you may return to being a Catholic in good standing.
God Bless.
