In Desperate Need Of Help QUESTION from Jennifer on September 9, 2002 I am in dire need of help. I am at the end of my rope. I am diagnosed with manic-depression. I hallucinate black shadow figures that speak to me. They have beedy black eyes. I have seen their hands, fingers with long black fingernails. They tell me they are going to kill me, they curse God, they try and enter me (I can feel their presence), they torment my mind and so much more. They look like demons. If I had to draw a demon, I would draw them. I have even seen them surrounding other people. My priest told me that they are demons. That I need deliverance. I have been on EVERY medication and even electric shock therapy and NOTHING WORKS!!! I see them all the time and they talk to me all the time. I am in constant attack and torment. When I was with my priest he asked their name and they said Legion!!!! My priest then told me that means 6,000 demons!!!
I am going to go through a deliverance with my priest. I just want to know if you think they are demons. They tell me they are going to materialize and kill me. Can they do this?? I have actually seen one that had black flesh. How did I get them? Am I seeing into the spiritual world?? When I call on my Guardian Angel I immediately see a white light keeping the black shadow figure back from me. I also see, after calling on Jesus to protect me and send Angels, Golden Figures in the distant background with wings.
What is going on? I know I have mental illness but this feels totally spiritual. I have a criss cross of fire shooting through my abdomen......is this the Holy Ghost protecting me? I know I am not possessed b/c I have the Holy Spirit living inside of me, but I am totally freaked out. Any advice or help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I have been going through this for over two years. I can't take it anymore. I have said prayers of binding and loosing, I have rebuked them in Jesus' name but they don't go away. They are also getting worse...more of them and constant chatter.
I know you might write me off as someone who suffers from mental illness, but I tell you, these things are totally evil and set on my destruction. They are totally real to me. They have a presence that I can feel. They attack my mind constantly putting thoughts in my head, crazy thoughts that I know are not mine. Just so you know, I am totally in reality although suffering with these psychotic symptoms. PLEASE HELP ME, I AM SO DESPERATE. IF THE DELIVERANCE DOESN'T WORK, AND I PRAY IT WILL, I AM A GONER. THESE THINGS ARE RUINING MY LIFE.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing these things. It is impossible to know for sure what is going on from the little information you gave. We normally have a person fill out a 20 page questionnaire and go through extensive interviews before coming to any conclusions.
But what you describe does sound like a demonic issue, and if your local priest thinks that is the case, then it is likely to be so.
I would follow your priest's suggestions and undergo a deliverance at his discretion.
