I was reading the book by Rebecca Brown, M.D., this weekend. The name of the book is Prepare for War. It is written within the context of her deliverance group and how she came to be proficient in helping people with spiritual bondage. The first 50 or so pages of the book are fairly well written. She has quotes from the bible on almost every other page to back up her view point. Most of what she says on spiritual warfare is correct. She puts strong emphasis on having covenants with God for protection and grace. Her biggest proficiency deals with helping people who have left the Occult/New Age practices deal with what she calls reaping what we sow. In other words, helping people deal with diabolical oppression as a result of individuals meddling in the Occult and New Age.I know Bro. likes pages quoted, but I dropped the book with a quickness around page 50 when Dr. Brown begins detailing how one can protect themselves. She states that people should rid their houses of all things that could have hooks on them, such as all New Age material, new age books, occult board games, Occult charms and symbols. All of this has been said time and again within these forums. However, within the very same paragraph, she says that in addition to ridding your house of New Age/Occult things, you should get rid of any crosses or rosaries, any statues or pictures of saints, and anything to do with Catholicism. I put the book down after reading this, but it makes one wonder how far evil will go to introduce something as damaging as this. 95% of things she says up until that point would not conflict with Catholic doctrine, and are beefed up with quotes from Scripture. Then boom... she hides that little (huge, the way we would see it) suggestion in there that could potentially lead individuals to have a PROFOUND mistrust of the Catholic Church. I would advise staying away from this book at all costs. Rebecca Administrator USA 1035 Posts

Dear bigdiggie, Thanks for reviewing that book and saving all the rest of us any time or money with it. Brother has a thread about how far evil will go to introduce something that is damaging. He calls it the grain of truth and poison apple methods. You can read about them here:A SW Moment: The Devil's Methods
