Can a demon make you sense an evil feeling in someone who is NOT evil, so you think they are evil?A few years ago my wife and I went to meet with a priest and afterward my wife said she sensed an evil presence around him. Dear TradCath, Demons can project feelings, such as fear and despair, so I'd imagine they are also capable of projecting suspicion that a person is evil.

Even if a person is not personally involved in evil, it is possible that you might sense an evil presence around that person who -- at that moment -- may very well be under spiritual attack.The important thing to keep in mind, however, is that 'emotions' sometimes lead one to the correct assessment, and sometimes do not. They should not be relied upon solely, but should be backed up with good discernment......otherwise judgementalism may rear it's ugly head as a result.Observe the body language, listen to 'what' is said and 'how' it is said. Note if there is peace in the encounter, or anxiety -- clarity of communication, or confusion.Also, one possible discernment indicator might be the appropriateness of what is being said. Is it germane to the discussion at hand, or do the comments come out of left field, as they say, and are quite unrelated to the discussion?Always....always.....ALWAYS.....pray! When you encounter a situation that makes you feel uneasy, pray to the Holy Spirit to give you the enlightenment that you need. Ask Him to help you see clearly whether there is any reason for concern.....and if so, what concern?Emotions are very subjective, and we should not rely only upon them.
